About the Award Recipients

Adele Lewis
Pillar of the Temple Award Recipient

For nearly 30 years, Adele Lewis has been an indispensable part of Temple Israel, profoundly impacting hundreds of Education Center students through her teaching and tutoring. More than a tutor, Adele becomes a trusted guide and confidante, forming deep personal relationships with every family. She possesses an extraordinary ability to know the "little things" — from instilling confidence to managing nerves — showcasing her immense value. Adele's selfless dedication to our children truly embodies what it means to be a Pillar of Temple Israel, and we are honored to present her with this award.

Allan Epstein

President's Award for Continued Excellence (PACE) Recipient

Temple Israel is honored to present Allan Epstein with the prestigious President's Award for Continued Excellence (PACE) for his extraordinary dedication. For nearly three decades, Allan has been an indispensable financial expert, holding a variety of leadership roles on the Executive Committee, Board of Trustees, and Finance Committee, and advising on capital campaigns and essential fundraisers. Having served under multiple presidents and senior rabbis, his steady guidance has consistently safeguarded the congregation's financial well-being, helping to navigate challenging times, including securing vital funding during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are deeply grateful for his unwavering commitment and tireless service, which has fortified our community for generations.
