for Monroe Elementary students

This spring, reorganize your costume jewelry and donate like-new items that you no longer wear as a mitzvah opportunity to benefit Monroe Elementary School students!
Now through Sunday, May 3, TI is collecting like-new costume jewelry for a volunteer-led jewelry store at Monroe Elementary, a school located in South St. Louis serving kids in preschool through grade 5. This event is a twist on our winter Holiday Store as students will be the shoppers, finding that perfect gift for their mother or female caregiver. Students are currently earning “Monroe bucks” for literacy-based initiatives and will use them to shop the Store. This amazing project gives students the opportunity to see themselves as “givers,” and your donations get a new loving home with someone who deserves a little something special, too.
Volunteer for the store: Sort jewelry at Temple Israel on Tuesday, April 28 or Tuesday, May 5 from 9:30 am - 11:30 am, and/or serve at the Mother’s Day Store on Friday, May 8 from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Please sign up to volunteer here!
Donate jewelry: Bring your like-new costume jewelry (bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and jewelry sets) to Temple Israel’s front office during business hours or drop off in TI's May Chapel front vestibule collection or the Education Center during student drop off now through Sunday, May 3.
Thank you in advance for this mitzvah! Unable to participate and interested in making a donation? Learn more about TI's partnership with Monroe Elementary and how you can help us support faculty and students in Pre-K through grade 5, by visiting www.ti-stl.org/Monroe!
