In honor of the spirit of Lilith, one of Judaism’s lesser known – but by no means lesser than – female figures, the Lilith Readers Book Club is a space for all who are interested in reading feel-good books that explore the relationships, love stories, and adventures that make up the Jewish experience. By reading novels written by Jewish women and about them, we celebrate the tradition of strong women’s voices in literature, all while enjoying a good nosh, some good wine, and the good company of friends. Join us!

Good Grief by Sara Goodman Confino.
About the book: In this hopeful and hilarious novel, a young widow named Barbara finds her life turned upside down when her abrasive mother-in-law, Ruth, unexpectedly moves in. What begins as a family friction quickly evolves into a comical competition as each woman secretly tries to find a new spouse for the other. As their matchmaking schemes unfold, they find unexpected common ground and, in the most unpredictable ways, begin to help each other heal and move forward.
