Annual High Holy Days Personal Care Item DriveDate: September 1 - October 31, 2020
Now through the High Holy Days, 2020
For the past 20 years, Temple Israel has been collecting and donating personal care items to the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry throughout the High Holy Days season. It’s a TI tradition to do this mitzvah together as a community, and if there was ever a time to share in this act of kindness, it is now. Because of the devastating effects COVID-19 has had on our community, the Food Pantry’s need has grown exponentially. So, instead of waiting until the High Holy Days to call for donations, we’re starting now. Help us to provide thousands of local St. Louis individuals and families with the personal care items they need to get through this time of uncertainty.
Donations can be dropped off at your convenience in Temple Israel’s May Chapel entrance vestibule. We’ll have large blue bins labeled “Food Pantry” where you can place your items.
Needed items include: toilet paper, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, dental floss, disposable razors, shaving cream, hand sanitizer, dishwashing liquid, and paper towels
Or, if you’d prefer Temple Israel buy personal care items on your behalf to donate to the Food Pantry, consider a contribution toward the purchase of gift cards through our Scrip program. Your purchase will not only benefit the Food Pantry, but Temple Israel will also receive a % of your contribution back from the gift card vendor.
Scroll to the bottom of this page to contribute today! All gift card donations are fully tax deductible.
Thank you for joining us in repairing the world, one tube of toothpaste at a time!
Thank you to our chair, Nancy Solomon.
