Book of Remembrance

Throughout the world, Jews traditionally take time to remember their departed loved ones during the High Holy Days. At Congregation Temple Israel, we embrace this tradition by preparing an annual Book of Remembrance. Each year, we invite our congregants to submit the names of their departed loved ones for inclusion in our annual Book of Remembrance.  It is customary to honor their memory with tzedakah (a charitable donation), which is traditionally given in a multiple of $18, which is symbolic of chai (life).
