Adult Education
At Temple Israel, we are deeply committed to lifelong learning as a cornerstone of our community. We believe that Jewish education should start early but continue throughout our lives, offering all generations the tools to navigate and reflect on life’s complexities.
Our Adult Education classes and programs are a welcoming space for everyone whether you’re a newcomer seeking to explore your Judaism or a seasoned learner diving deeper into core teachings. Join us as we tackle thought-provoking questions and engage in enriching discussions that empower you to lead a more examined and meaningful life.

UPCOMING Classes & Programs
NCJW Repro Shabbat and Class with Rabbi Amy
Friday, Feb 13th 6:30p to 7:30pThis Shabbat marks NCJW's annual Repro Shabbat, a national movement that honors the Jewish value of reproductive freedom. In observance, Rabbi Amy will lead an insightful and compassionate class immediately following the Shabbat service delving into the stories of infertility from the Torah — Sarah, Rebecca, and Rachel — to explore how our tradition recognizes the profound pain and grief of these struggles.
The TISCH Shabbat Dinner: Passover Edition with Rabbi Shook
Friday, Apr 3rd 7:30p to 9:00pWhether you are Jewish or new to Judaism, an interfaith couple, looking for an experiential learning opportunity to make new traditions, or simply seeking friendly faces and a warm and familiar place to enjoy a Seder with other adults, we’d love for you to join us for this inclusive Seder experience.
Lilith Readers Book Club
Thursday, Apr 9th 7:00p to 8:00pIn honor of the spirit of Lilith, one of Judaism’s lesser known – but by no means lesser than – female figures, the Lilith Readers Book Club is a space for all who are interested in reading feel-good books that explore the relationships, love stories, and adventures that make up the Jewish experience. By reading novels written by Jewish women and about them, we celebrate the tradition of strong women’s voices in literature, all while enjoying a good nosh, some good wine, and the good company of friends.
Coffee & Conversation with the President
