Holiday and Festival Services

We believe in the importance of family worship, with grandparents, parents and children coming to the Temple to celebrate Shabbat and the festivals throughout the year.

High Holy Day Service Schedule 2012 / 5773

President's High Holiday Message 2012

The evenings of the High Holy Days as well as on Yom Kippur afternoon are classical, formal worship services that use the Reform movement's Gates of Repentance prayerbook.

Using liturgy written by the Temple Israel professional staff, family holiday and festival services are conducted on the mornings of most holidays.  Temple Israel's morning, intergenerational services are accompanied by guitar, drums, and piano and use our newly created prayerbooks.

A Children's Service for families with children in 2nd grade or younger is offered at 9 a.m. prior to our Intergenerational Service.  Children in 3rd grade and above are encouraged to attend the Intergenerational service.

At 10:00 a.m. we will offer special age-appropriate babysitting and programming for children 6 months-2nd grade who are not joining their parents in the Gall Sanctuary for our Intergenerational Service. Children will be divided into classrooms according to age to enjoy holiday art projects,
play time, and other activities.

Babysitting and children's programs are provided at no charge during High Holy Days services with advance reservations.  Contact Leslie Wolf at (314) 432-8076. Reservations are required by Sept. 5th, 2012.
