Monroe Elementary Partnership
Congregation Temple Israel has partnered with Monroe Elementary School, located in South St. Louis. Monroe has 361 students ranging from age 3-12, all of whom are living in poverty, and nearly half are homeless. Our goal is to support them in a number of ways to forge long-lasting relationships, and we need your help. We are, with our liaison from the St. Louis Public School District, starting to build an army of people who can share reassuring words and encouraging smiles, and who can sit with a child and remind them that they have potential, and that they are worthy of attention and care.
We need your help!
The Monroe Elementary Holiday Gift Store is right around the corner.
Temple Israel is creating a Holiday Gift Store at Monroe Elementary for Monroe parents to select gifts for their children, and we'd love your help! Consider volunteering at the Holiday Store, donating new, store-bought gifts, or contributing toward the purchase of holiday gifts. It’s a Hanukah mitzvah!
