My decision to convert to Reform Judaism has been a remarkably rewarding experience. Temple Israel and the entire Jewish community embraced me. There was no difficulty - just an overwhelming welcome that made me feel good to belong.

My connection with Temple Israel began seven years ago when I met my husband, Jerry. I had questions about Judaism and started going to services with him. Quickly, I realized I wanted to be part of this religion and the Temple Israel congregation. Reform Judaism encourages questioning and discussion. I thrive in that kind of environment. I love the people I've become involved with at Temple Israel. There is a wonderful sense of history, culture and pride. Even in a large congregation, we experience intimate fellowship through groups like Aleph Chavurah. Jerry and I meet with 11 other couples once a month to discuss topics that enrich our lives and reinforce our spirit of Judaism. The professional staff at Temple Israel is terrific. The people are wise, dynamic, friendly and cooperative. Right away the reached out to me and asked how I would like to get involved. Now I teach Hebrew and coordinate the Midwest Israel Program.
