Those sounds of "Mac the Knife" are coming from the exercise class that begins our weekly Retirees Program. After a rousing session of dancing and stretching led by our specially-trained volunteers, we enjoy a delicious group lunch followed by an entertaining or educational program. Retirees dues are $10 per year, which covers a monthly newsletter, access to our Cab Card transportation program and a complimentary lunch in the spring.
With an attendance of over 125 each Tuesday, the Temple Israel Retirees Program provides a regular social network for our older adult community. For those who would like to deepen their involvement, our Mitzvah Morning group meets periodically to participate in service or information-gathering projects. - Cab Card transportation program: each member of the Retirees Program who needs transportation is issued a cab card which entitles him/her to come to any Temple Israel program or service for only the cost of the tip to the driver. This service is available to all Temple members, regardless of their participation in the Retirees programs.
